An experiment to progress...

Sun Feb 8, 2009, 7:39 PM
G'day all,

I very much enjoy deviantART, as it is as addictive as Wikipedia and filled with beautiful art. I hope that I become half as talented as a great deal of the artists on this website one day. And I also appreciate that it is easy to communicate with artists; giving feedback and having deep dialogue about what art is and other philosophies, as well as simple dialogue that makes us love the artist more. The artists that we look up to can give us feedback in order to improve our art, or perhaps snuff us off and give the viewer an understanding that the artist is as human as the appreciator.

But, I have a bit of a problem; the problem has nothing to do with deviantART, rather it is my own discomfort with the dialogue on this website. So, I should warn you all that I will not be viewing my messages, nor will I be responding to your comments. It is no offense to anyone, you're opinions are valuable, I just can't handle the high anxiety and fear of being judged, and for those who do judge me harshly, I simply can't discredit their opinion because I don't agree with them - there is a possibility that they're right, which makes it far harder for me to defend myself. If I actually respond to any messages or comments then that's going to be a very odd day for me, you may want to congratulate me on overcoming my fears for a brief time.

Please feel free to comment on anything you want and discuss amongst yourselves. Dialogue is important, and although we frustrate eachother over conflicting opinions, talking about it is the only way we progress.

Speaking of progression: I hope to use this diviantART as a method to force myself to improve to a point that I can quickly and easily make lovely graphic novels and comic books, even contemporary art of other kinds. I'll probably include my own writing, and a fair amount of fan-fiction. I hope you enjoy it all =)
